Osceola National Forest
« on: August 18, 2009, 08:02:10 PM »
I rarely see threads/rides posted on forums about wheeling in Osceola National Forest.  What's it like?  I was up that ways this weekend and thinking about being back up that way again soon.  Might take a spin through there.  Looks vast on the map I am looking at and has a LOT of roads.

If you have any insight - post up.

I live in Lake City, been out there a few times.  Runs about like ONF, trails being alittle muddy most of the time.  They do dry up during the winter.  Wildlife is great.  See alot of deer, turkey, some hog.  Trails are well marked for atv, jeep.
Been thru a few of the mudbogs, nothing too deep but if you get careless you can get stuck.  Nice trail riding over all.

Appreciate the feedback.  Some buddies of mine and I are gonna camp Ginnie Springs and run up there one weekend.  Sounds like a mix of Ocala and Richloam. That otta work.

You'll love Ginnie Springs.  Friend of mine created the park there.  He just died this last winter.  His ex wife runs the place.  Real witch, so I dont visit there much anymore.  But its real nice!

Let me know when you come up.  Be interested in hooking up.
