My 1991 Wrangler Renegade
« on: May 27, 2009, 03:19:00 PM »
I bought this thing 3 weeks ago. It is the first Jeep I have owned myself. I found it at a tiny car dealer off of Florida Av. in Tampa. Just down the street from a popular Jeep dealer. Their prices were a little too high for me so I went with this one.

It's a '91 and has 86,000 miles on it. It's in pretty good shape and runs great. I didn't realize that it was a special edition Renegade until I got home and searched the net. Mine has it's "Renegade" stickers removed from the doors.

I've found some people love the styling of the fenders, while others hate it. I like it because it's pretty rare. The flares also keep all water and mud from flying up and hitting your passengers (my Wife and two small kids) so they are very functional.

I would like to put a winch on it for insurance if we get stuck while out in the forest. We usually go alone so it might be a good idea. The install will be a little tricky due to the front fenders and bumper plastic. I'll figure it out.

I have changed the fan belt as the old one was getting cracked. The radio fell right out while test driving it. I fixed that in 20 minutes. I'm installing new driving lights in the fenders as the old ones were cracked and rusted.

That's it for now!

Maybe in the future I'll lift it. It already has 31's on it at least. I want to get more drive time on it before I make any changes. I still want that winch though.

Thats too pretty to go to many jeep trails. 8) You can't worry about the paint and if you do, get a second one for the woods. My jeep is in perfect condition except for the brush and limbs scratches all over it.

Yeah, I'm not going to worry too much about the paint. I'll try not to abuse it though either. I wanted a flat black textured painted Jeep anyway. So if it gets too scratched up, here comes the bedliner stuff!

Oh yeah, with a skull and crossbones on the hood!

I personally like the white paint. And remember, textured bedliner is harder to clean!

Looks great. Big tires seem to really set it off.
